Welcome to a Matrijaršija event at Kalasataman Seripaja on Saturday, May 3, starting at 17:00!
The event will begin with an exhibition of Matrijaršija prints at the Paja Gallery in Kalasataman Seripaja, which will be open until 18 May.
This will be followed with a presentation by Milica Ivić and Sofija Pašalić about Matrijaršija's printing and publishing activities, and they will share their experiences in organising fairs, festivals and parties as a means of supporting their autonomous activities.
This will also be the occasion for the launch of Optically Suspicious, a new book by Matrijaršija, published in cooperation with Rab-Rab Press and Baraba. This riso-printed book is the first in the Tehnika series and is based on research into the left-wing union of typographers and printers active in Yugoslavia in the 1920s and 30s.
The book, prints and other Matrijaršija publications will be on sale during the event.
The event will continue with a late-night party featuring a performance by Vilunki 3000 & Maria Candia (Deuce & Ace) and a turbo-folk-punk DJ set by Milica and Sofija!
This is the second Publishing as Scaffolding event organised by Rab-Rab Press.
